Rush Pre-Season Preparations

Rush Pre-Season Prep

So Cal Rush has been busy preparing for the new season with Rush Boot Camp, friendlies, a parent education night, and two summer tournaments, Elite Camp and Striker’s Cup. Coaches hosted a week of Boot Camp with double sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening, focused on agility, endurance, flexibility, and strength. The week of double up with an additional week of Rush Boot Camp and soccer training.

Several local teams met up with Rush teams for friendlies the weekend of August 11 and 12. Teams who didn’t against older teams. It was a fun weekend full of great competition.

Boot Camp and the friendlies were a great build up to the club wide participation in Elite Cup in Temecula and Striker’s Cup in San Bernardino. Two teams, the B04’s and G05’s, pulled out Elite Cup Finalist medals. The G05’s wrapped up Striker’s Cup with a Finalist medal. All semifinal games were very competitive and it was a great indication for what these teams have in store for this season.

Pre-season parent education nights also helped prepare players and parents for a successful season. Coach Ramo asked players to share what caused the most stress for them in relation to parents. Several players shared that parent coaching and yelling on the sidelines was their number one stress factor. Coach Ramo challenged each parent to leave the coaching to coaches and, instead, serve as the number one fan. He furthered explained that the three focus core values this season will be EAT-  enjoyment, accountability, and tenacity. We all are looking forward to a fun-filled, exciting, successful and exciting 2018-19 season.
